Well-being support

Our re:imagine creative associate’s mental health and well-being are important to us, and we take responsibility for ensuring that our creative associates are treated with respect, dignity, and care whilst working with us. To this end, we are providing restorative supervision with a trained counsellor who will support them on their re:imagine journey.

Restorative supervision is a model of reflection, developed by Wallbank in 2012, that seeks to increase individual autonomy, build stronger relationships with colleagues, and to undertake workload more effectively (Wallbank, 2012). Restorative supervision has also been shown to ‘improve mental wellbeing, increase compassion satisfaction and promote resilience to work-related, secondary exposure to traumatically stressful events’ (Coe & Barlow, 2015) (Delaney 2015).

The restorative supervision takes the form of bi-monthly (every two months), two-hour group meetings. Creative associates are able to process their time on the project, share their lived experiences, and reflect on what the project means to them.

The sessions will also provide protected time to reflect on physical and emotional health by providing:

  • A safe and confidential space to explore the impact of working on the re:imagine project

  • An opportunity to collectively discuss the challenges faced on the project and the new ways of working in a creative medium

  • A chance to explore feelings, concerns or worries

  • Someone to challenge ideas and ways of thinking to help improve outcomes

  • Opportunity to encourage and enhance good working relationships within the re:imagine participant and creative partner team

The restorative supervision runs throughout the project, with creative associates receiving a total of fifteen free sessions upon completion. The re:imagine team will complement this group work by providing additional health and well-being resources to help our creative associates to get the most out of their time whilst working on re:imagine.
